Now entering its third year of existence, Latin Heat is an organisation which promotes social, career and health opportunities through one of Australia’s favourite sports.
The organisation is 100% volunteer-run and aims to assist Latin American nations qualify for future Rugby League World Cups, running teams for both children and adults.
Players of Latino heritage are currently being invited to participate in the following events:
REDFERN NINES (Born 1997, 1998) – Sep 19, Sydney University, Camperdown, Sydney
HARMONY CUP (Born 1999, 2000, 2001) – Oct 10, St Mary’s Stadium, Sydney
LATINO MEN’S SEVENS (Ages 17+) – Oct 17, Cabramatta, Sydney
Training and trials (no cost) each Sunday:
NSW: Cabramatta RLFC, Sussex St, Cabramatta – Start 2pm
QLD: Brothers St Brendan’s RLFC, Tramore St, Rocklea – Start 10am
To qualify, players must have heritage (as far back as grandparents) in one of the following nations: Argentina, Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico, Suriname, Uruguay, Venezuela.
